The Seacliff ride on 14th, 15th and 17th of June 2019 is one of the biggest rides of the year for the Scottish Endurance Riding Club. With classes from pleasure ridesto 160km ER and CEI* 80km & CEI** 120km, there is something for everyone.
In 2018 we welcomed Horseware as our new major sponsor, which allowed us to further enhance the Seacliff experience for everyone by improving the venue and the facilities.
The ride has expanded based on the success of the previous years, with everyone enjoying the fast, flowing routes and fantastic going around the grassy farmland and woodlands of East Lothian. A major attraction for riders are the beaches - nearly everyone rides the almost deserted Peffer and Ravensheugh Sands, and the longer distances also enjoy the opportunity to canter or gallop for 1.5 kilometres along Tyninghame beach.
This part of Scotlands east coast is teeming with history: you ride past the clifftop ruins of 13th century Tantallon Castle, once the seat of the Earls of Angus and now a battered survivor of three centuries of sieges. A little further inland and you ride over the grassy hill supporting the magnificent 16th century Fenton Tower, which once sheltered King James VI of Scotland as he fled a rebel army. On this flat coastal plain the ancient hill forts of North Berwick Law and Traprain Law are visible for miles around, and a little offshore you can?t fail to see the looming bulk of the Bass Rock, once a prison and an army garrison but now a breeding site for 150,000 gannets.
With so much on Seacliff's doorstep, and such glorious riding opportunities, it is well worth making the trip. A friendly, welcoming atmosphere awaits you!

The Zilco Airflow saddle pad is ideal for keeping horses comfortable on long rides due to its ability to 'breathe'. The special perforated rubber lining has a dual purpose of encouraging airflow and decreasing saddle slippage at the same time. The extra thick poly fill and overall shape of the Airflow saddle makes it ideal for most saddles. Riders will also appreciate the easy maintenance of the pad, which can simply be wiped over with a sponge after a ride. The pad has been extensively tested in Australia by Toft Endurance, who have had significant input into its design.
